Jordan Brand heads in a different direction with its championship-winning silhouette, opting for a suede ensemble instead. The Air Jordan 6 can normally be found clad in white leather, a look that harks back to its days as a pinnacle basketball shoe during the ‘90s. Built with an alternative mission in mind, this leaked “Brown Kelp” edition is set to arrive with a functional twist thanks to the addition of a GORE-TEX membrane.
A light brown suede forms the upper, similar to what we previously saw on the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 “British Khaki” from ‘21. Around the tongue and ankle collar are purple and orange accents that give this AJ6 a ‘90s ACG Mowabb vibe, an appropriate touch given the off-the-court inspiration. The speckled midsole filled with greens, blacks and whites is another interesting choice that helps channel the outdoor-specific motif that Jordan Brand have leaned into. There still remains all the traditional features that make the AJ6 great, such as the spoiler-inspired heel tab, lace toggle and iced-out sections on the midsole, just to make sure these are recognisable to all the Jordan heads out there.
Will the tooling on this “Brown Kelp” edition be too much of a change for fans of the silhouette? We’ll have to wait on official product photos first, but for more info on this Air Jordan 6 GORE-TEX “Brown Kelp”, make sure to keep it locked into The Sole Supplier!
