A Ma Maniére x Nike Air Max 95 While You Were Sleeping

Going viral after being snapped up at Paris Fashion Week F/W 2024, A Ma Maniére’s voyage into Air Max is clearly a project sneakerheads want to see. While floods of new products and catwalk images come out as a result of those seven days in Paris, only a few pieces of footwear are lucky enough to grab a hold of mainstream attention, which in this case is the AMM x Air Max 95. Following the leaked images of the AJ4 “Phantom”, along with this A Ma Maniére x Nike Air Max 95, there’s a strong indication that we might see the Whitner-led brand adopt a lighter palette for the rest of 2024.

Embracing the AM95’s signature panelling, this edition complements the elegant mauve hues with a focus on less layering thanks to a heavy zig-zag stitch that covers up the panel edges. This removes the harsh and bulky profile which tends to dominate the 95’s sidewall, fitting the formal aesthetic that Whitner has been instilling in his Jordan collaborations. The tight mesh around the laces has also been replaced, opting for a super supple leather instead, dampening the silhouette’s original sporty.

Co-branding comes in the form of a laser-etched spell out on the front toe, while on the spine an “A” has been embedded into the 3M heel tab, a detail that elevates the silhouette’s profile yet again. Of course, the mini Swoosh under the ankle collar remains, a key feature which would be a sneaker sin to remove and a vital part of the shoe’s DNA.
