Nike Air Pegasus 89 Triple Black

The Swoosh revives its 80s running classic by putting aside all its heritage and draping it in a “Triple Black” colourway. Released as the fifth version of the brand’s main running line, the Air Pegasus 89 is a shoe embedded with history and connection to the sport. However, this time Nike lets the silhouette do all the talking by giving the shoe a stealthy appearance for the modern-day consumer.

Normally the go-to option for an all-black Nike shoe would have been one of the Air Max silhouettes, yet the Swoosh seeks to switch it up by giving us this retro runner option instead. From the bottom of the shoe to the upper, no sign of colour can be found. It’s the same mixture of nylon and suede as on the other two pairs from the collection, although less obvious thanks to the dark colourway present. The air vents on the heel counter provide breathability while the extra ridge at the back increases stability through the heel strike portion of your stride. Comfort on these should be the same as your other Nike running retro lines thanks to the mixture of EVA and Air technology located in the midsole.
