The Air Span first released in the early 80s but it didn’t gain much credibility until the 2.0 model was unveiled in 1990. It quickly became a favourite amongst runners but also transitioned as a lifestyle release.
Today, this revival should be met with plenty of hype given the appeal of old-school footwear. Whilst these won’t be used for running anymore, the vintage aesthetic promises timeless versatility.
The ‘Laser Blue’ Air Span 2 remains subdued and understated thanks to that base shade of white. A mix of leather and nlyon features and ensures that supportive, lock down fit. Nike retains all the classic detailing from the ‘AIR’ insignia across the heel to the low-profile midsole underfoot. It’s the vibrant blue Swoosh along the sidewall which really brings this trainer to life.
