The NikeLAB Air Zoom Chalapuka Black is yet another vintage classic brought back from the archives. For Nike’s summer collection 2016 we’ve seen a handful of Quick Strike releases which have created some major hype for archived shoes. The Nike Zoom Spiridon is a perfect example, with all three colourways selling fast across limited retailers.
Continuing that trend, Nike have turned their attention to the Air Zoom Chalapuka. Most sneakerheads won’t be familiar with this eye-catching design. Despite it’s good lucks and impressive performance features, it was only sold back in 2001 for a short period. Nike then chose to archive this shoe, until now.
Maybe it was ahead of its time as the contemporary look appears to be perfectly on trend for 2016. Big open windows on the sidewall offer maximum breathability and a unique look that you won’t find on conventional Nike releases.
Mesh is utilised elsewhere and compliments this lightweight design. Although you’ll have a choice of three other colourways, this pair keeps it simple with a full shade of black on top. To finish, a chunky white midsole offers that all important cushioning.
The NikeLAB Air Zoom Chalapuka Black is scheduled to release on Thursday 28th July via the retailers on the right hand side.
