A COLD WALL* x Nike TN Air Max Plus Onyx

The London-based streetwear label brings stealthy aesthetics to this A COLD WALL* x Nike TN Air Max Plus “Black”. Leaving its mark in sneaker culture back in 2018 with both its Air Force 1 and Zoom Vomero 5 capsules, A COLD WALL* has continued to push its aesthetic with challenging new silhouettes and unconventional takes on classics. Now with Nike's infamous TN on the chopping board, founder and creative Dr. Samuel Ross delivers a premium version of this '90s icon.

Ross removes the presence of EVA tooling from the upper, instead opting for a premium black leather with embossed detailing. While we have received a similar offering with the TN "Leather Triple Black" edition back in 2018, Ross' take on the Air Max Plus more closely resembles that of the Supreme x Air Max 95 Lux "Triple Black" retro. By placing a focus on the TN's lines within the heavy grain of the upper, it takes the pair down a much more luxurious route than ever before. The mudguard wraps around the bottom portion of the upper as usual, its slight shine contrasting the matte black hits on the toe and heel cage. The Swoosh is laser etched onto the upper, once again removing the need for plastic and echoing the frequent use of squared-design within A COLD WALL*'s collaborative library. ACW branding can be spotted throughout such as on the whale tale in the midfoot, as well as on the iconic hexagon tongue badge. On the rear, the heel also references the collaboration, reading "ACW_NIKE", marking another step forward in the duo's relationship.
