Nike TN Air Max Plus Spider-Man

Nike gives another one of its classic silhouettes a Spider-Man make-over. While the previous line-up of Spider-Man-themed Nikes focused on the new Spider-Verse movies, this pair takes a subtle step back by following the silhouette’s DNA more closely. There are no cut-and-sew elements, no hidden dotted effect, just a simple nod to the Superhero’s iconic costume. Don’t be surprised if you catch your favourite neighbourhood Air Max head rocking these without having a clue about its Marvel-inspired roots. Of course, if you’re trying to match these with your Spider-Man print t-shirt, then more power to you!

The TNs signature tooling makes a return, boasting the superhero’s suit colours across its breathable mesh upper. Wavy TPUV lines detail a dark blue-to-red gradient, with painted outlines even making it onto the underlay. As Spider-Man usually finds himself fighting crime during the darker hours of the day, the upper is certainly a reflection of this, with a black leather mudguard and tongue playing into the edition’s stealthy palette. The typical mini Swoosh sits on the sidewall, coated in a matte white that resembles the eyes of the hero’s costume. Within the midfoot, the whale tale also follows the blue-to-red motif, its split contrasting the surrounding Air unit. The Hexagonal logo on the spine remains untouched, making these instantly recognisable from its rear profile. However heading onto the front portion of the shoe, the tongue badge blends into the surrounding grain of the black leather tongue.
