This Nike ZoomX VaporFly 3 “Eliud Kipchoge” honours the namesake long-distance runner’s sub-13 minute 5K distance win in the 2003 World Athletics Championship in Paris, France.

Hailing from Kenya, Eliud Kipchoge has been dominating long-distance running events for two decades now. After winning the junior world cross country event in 2003, Kipchoge made his presence felt in every competition, often winning gold and earning a podium finish. This Nike ZoomX VaporFly 3 commemorates Kipchoge’s 2003 5K gold finish with a tribute colourway similar to the Nike Zoom Miler track spike he wore in the competition. The shoe has an uber-lightweight Flyknit construction accented with a red stripe on the midfoot as a nod to the 2003 track spike. Black Swooshes adorn the sides, while details about the Kenyan runner’s win, including the date and finishing time, make up the sockliner. The full-length ZoomX midsole showcases Kipchoge’s signature in the medial panel, while the usual ZoomX branding sits on the lateral side.
