Maison Margiela’s MM6 diffusion line reunites with Salomon for a minimalist take on the innovative X-ALP mountaineering shoe. The two powerhouse brands have teamed up previously on various models, merging the Parisian luxury fashion label’s haute couture pieces with the Annecy-based outdoor company’s trail-ready design language. Part of MM6’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection, the Maison Margiela x Salomon X-ALP “Black” presents a stealthy approach, highlighting the silhouette’s highly technical elements.
This blacked-out rendition flaunts a durable textile underlay with rich suede overlays covering the forefoot, complementing the rubberised toe cap. Debossed Sensifit technology surrounds the lightweight upper to wrap the foot securely, whilst the textured lateral power band reinforces the sidewalls. Subtle co-branded logos decorate the tongue, heel pull tabs, and sockliners, offset by a massive pitch-black “Salomon” callout on the lateral rear. Plush EVA foam provides superior cushioning to withstand the rigours of uneven terrains, propped up by the patented Edging Chassis technology and durable Contagrip outsole
