Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you’ll know that Nike has been killing the collab game for quite some time now. From tried and tested link-ups with the likes of Travis Scott to new partnerships with labels like Jacquemus, the Swoosh brand has a lot of partners to pick from, but its upcoming run of collaborative sneakers sees the brand return to some serious fan-favorites. Whether you’re a keen collector, or you’ve missed out on either a sacai, Patta, or Cactus Plant Flea Market collab in the past, then listen up, as you won’t want to miss any of these.
First up is a pair we know a lot of sneakerheads have been waiting for. Last year’s Nike x Patta Air Max 1 collection saw four colourways hit the sneaker shelves, with a 1-of-1 “Roman Forever” pair also created as a tribute to Patta founder Edson Sabajo’s son, who sadly passed away earlier in the year. As well as the huge emotional pull behind this pair, Patta fans praised the simplicity of the super-clean colourway, so we’re happy to see that a similar version will be getting a wider release.
The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “White” follows the same colour scheme as the tribute pair, meaning that the classic silhouette arrives with a grey mesh base and white leather overlays. Wavey-shaped mudguards bring the “White” Patta AM1 in line with the rest of the pack, and grey Nike Swooshes and embroidered mini Swooshes decorate the sides of the sneakers. For this pair, the “Roman Forever” text on the heels has been swapped out for Nike branding, but the same pre-yellowed midsole has been kept, retaining the pair’s vintage vibe.
Secondly, Patta and Nike are also set to drop their collaborative Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Orange” very soon. This pair sports a seriously luxurious look thanks to the vintage style brown leather that makes up the waves, overlays, Swoosh and tongue. A grey mesh base provides the perfect amount of juxtaposition, whilst helping the sneaker remain true to the theme of the wider collection. Once again, the same vintage-style midsole adds the perfect finishing touch.
Next, Nike and sacai have been busy once again, with a new Cortez collaboration in the works for this year. Previewed earlier in the year at Paris Fashion Week, this pair is set to drop in both a “Grey” and “White Red” colourway, and arrives as part of the Cortez’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The “White Red” sacai x Nike Cortez sees the sneaker take on the classic red, white and blue Cortez colour blocking and nylon and suede construction, but also comes packed with signature sacai details, from the doubled-up Swooshes and tongues to the stacked sole unit. Finally, an exposed air bubble peeps out from underneath the forefoot, adding an unconventional twist to the legendary silhouette.
Finally, we bring news that the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low "Grass" is officially on its way. The polarising take on the Dunk silhouette is one of the wildest collabs we’ve seen this year, but we love the fact that it’s a super imaginative take on the model.
The chunky-looking pair sees the Dunk’s usual leather construction get scrapped completely, and instead a triangular, textured suede pattern makes up the pair’s base. This comes overlaid with dark green suede panels, whilst a white oversized Swoosh sweeps across the pair’s sidewalls in a matching suede material. Fat tongues and flat laces add a skate-ready edge to the pair, and a mossy-textured midsole completes the quirky CPFM theme.
All pairs are set to hit the shelves over the next couple of months, so be sure to hit the release reminders above to make sure you have your notifications set up, as these will be some of the most heavily anticipated releases of the year!
Up next, two new Off-White Air Force 1s have been revealed.
