Contrary to early rumours, it looks like the Yeezy Boost 380 "Covellite" won't be the 350 V3 but it'll in fact be yet another 380. First leaked all the way back in the summer of 2020, this colourway has been in the back of our minds since Day Dot, and now, we're taking a sneak peek thanks to these brand new images from Instagram user @jjoseph15!
Bearing a striking resemblance to the "Onyx" that dropped last year, the "Covellite" gets its unique name from the rare copper sulfide mineral that's usually found with a dark purple colour scheme. This hue has been reflected onto this Yeezy's Primeknit upper, while stealthier black accents descend upon the laces and collar.
Moving down below, you'll find a smokey brown semi-translucent midsole that houses a full length adidas Boost midsole within. This is then lined with a thin slither of gum rubber, finalising the design.
While the adidas Yeezy Boost 380 "Covellite" obviously isn't the 350 V3 that we've been yearning for since 2016, it's still a pretty dope colourway in its own right. Not much else is known about it at the moment, but our sources tell us that it'll launch sometime in March. Let us know if you'll be adding these to your rotation this season, and while you're here, you might as well take an on-foot look at the Yeezy Boost 380 "Alien Blue"!
