The adidas Yeezy Boost 380 is Kanye West's latest foray into the world of sock-like sneakers. Unveiled back in 2018 with the release of the "Alien", the Yeezy Boost 380 was originally supposed to be the hotly anticipated Yeezy Boost 350 V2, but according to legend, Ye loved the silhouette so much that he made it its own thing. Giving the 350 V2 a subtle yet striking rework, this silhouette gained a pretty following over the past few years - and we're not surprised at all.

One of the most futuristic adidas shoes in existence, the first thing that you'd notice about the Yeezy Boost 380 is the stretchy sock-like Primeknit upper. Unlike retro pairs such as the Air Jordan 1, Air Force 1, or the Nike Dunk High, this shoe offers up an easy slip-in and slip-out experience. See-through mesh panels adorn the lateral and medial sides, and down below, you'll find a wedge-shaped adidas Boost midsole that's features a chunkier heel for added comfort and cushioning with every step. This is then finished off with a rubber outsole for durable traction wherever you plan to go.

Even though the Yeezy Boost 380 is only three years old, Yeezy has been working harder than ever to release many new colorways as possible, and we're here to name a few of the most sought-after iterations.

Yeezy Boost 380 Colourways

Apart from the aforementioned "Alien", other pairs that are worth discussing include the "Calcite Glow" and the "Onyx". Just like the debut pair, the "Calcite Glow" sports a "Triple White" palette but glows in a ghoulish green hue in the dark. The "Onyx", on the other hand", is painted completely in "Triple Black" for a seriously stealthy vibe that techwear fans would appreciate.

While these are pretty understated colourways, Ye has also released a bunch that are pretty crazy, including the "Azure", the "Blue Oat", the "Hylte Glow" and of course, the "Lmnte". These new colorways are as insane as they come, and while they aren't for the faint of heart, we can definitely appreciate what Kanye West is trying to achieve here. One pair that's definitely worth noting is the "Covellite".

While the "Covellite" may look like a pretty simple shoe, there's actually more than meets the eye. According to myth, this colourway was meant to be the very first Yeezy Boost 350 V3 to drop since the Yeezy Boost 350 V2's five year reign. With that said, everything got pushed back a little bit and the rest is history.

If you haven't noticed already, every single Yeezy Boost 380 colourway is named after a mineral or a stone, and they come in both reflective and non-reflective options. Colourways like the "Yecoraite" are also regional exclusives too so you won't see them everywhere.
