Get an Early In-Hand Look at the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Away"

After months of anticipation, we finally have an in-hand look at the upcoming Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low Retro OG "Away". This second public joint effort between Nike and Marcus Jordan's Trophy Room is already generating controversy and hype reminiscent of their first release, so wanted to give you a detailed look at what to expect when this pair drops next week.

As predicted back when this pair was just a rumour, the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low "Away" will come in an iteration of the classic Chicago colourway. Many have been calling this colourway the "Reverse Black Toe", due it's take on the classic that debuted back in '85. Marcus Jordan explained that the retro styling of this shoe is inspired by his father Michael Jordan's rookie days. Drawing inspiration from a 1986 rookie card and an image featured in a 1984 copy of Sports Illustrated, the Trophy Room Jordan 1 Low is a beautiful example of story telling.

Once we got our hand on this pair, it was the details that really stood out to us. The first thing you notice with this pair is the materials, as a smooth satin drapes the upper and the usual leather Jordan 1 toebox is swapped out for a premium nubuck. The use of the satin finish pays homage to the classic polyester Chicago Bulls jerseys, which had a distinct shine when they were worn on the court.

There are elevated details throughout this shoe, from the gold Jordan 'Wings' insignia sat on the corduroy heel, to the Trophy Room logo embossed in the satin overlay. Even the Swoosh logo is reworked, dropping the typical leather and instead opting to stitch the Swoosh into the upper.

The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low "Away" is set to release on the 21st March 2024 for a retail price of £145.
