Remember those adidas x KITH x Clarks Originals Sambas that dropped back in March? Well, if you never managed to get your hands on them, then we might just have the perfect dupe for you. Having surfaced on social media this weekend, it looks like the 3-Stripes could be lining up their own platform-style Samba, with this adidas Samba XLG "Green Gum" looking set to drop towards the end of the year.
Shared by renowned sneaker insider woganwodeyang, the new XLG Samba takes some serious cues from the aforementioned collaboration thanks to the stacked gum sole that sits underfoot. Of course, this isn't the first time that the Samba has been given the platform treatment (Sambarose, anyone?) and the XLG finish has also been applied to its Superstar model before, but in combination with this clean, white and green colour palette, it’s certainly got something a little KITH-y going on.
Now, as good-looking as the effort with KITH and Clarks Originals was, there’s no denying that it came with a hefty price tag. And, given that the pairs were subject to a 4-6 month pre-order, it makes sense for the German giant to drop something similar in the meantime, even if just to whet the appetite a little. If you're looking to pick the adidas Samba XLG up, then you can check out the pair right here while we wait for more drop info, and be sure to hit the purple button below to set those release reminders nice and early.
Up next, peep an official look at GANNI's New Balance collab.
