adidas delved into the archives last year and resurrected Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s classic signature shoe, the adidas Jabbar. Since its return, we've seen both the low and high top versions decked out in lively colour schemes and some serious collaborative efforts. Now, the Three Stripes are teasing us with yet another project.
Bruce Lee continues to inspire folks across generations, and we've seen everything from stories to trainers created in his honour. adidas' newest trainers drawing inspiration from Bruce Lee are the Jabbar Lo "Game of Death".
It features nods to Lee, like his signature on the outer heel and a silhouette of him on the heel counter. This yellow and gold edition remembers Lee’s time on screen with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in "Game of Death". Although the film wasn't finished before Lee's passing, it was completed later and famously includes a scene where these two athletic legends have a showdown. For all the freshest updates on future trainer releases, be sure to grab The Sole Supplier app.
Lee’s look now serves as the basis for adidas' latest Jabbar Lo trainers. Just like Bruce Lee’s iconic Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66, this adidas Jabbar Lo takes its cues from Lee’s memorable film wardrobe. Yellow suede and black leather feature on the upper, but it’s the finer points that make this a truly special pair.
To begin with, you'll find Bruce Lee's autograph rendered in black on the outer heel. A gold silhouette of the martial artist executing a kick graces the back tab, and images of Bruce and Kareem facing off are printed onto the insoles. Special packaging showcasing images of the two on set completes the package.
You can expect the Bruce Lee adidas Jabbar Lo “Game Of Death” to become available on the 8th of June for £85 through the adidas online shop. For your best shot at grabbing these at retail price, make sure you hit that 'Notify me' button.
