The AF1 has been around since 1982 but even after forty years we still get excited every time a new one gets announced, and this can certainly be said about the upcoming Nike Air Force 1 "NAI-KE Blue". Part of the "The One Line" series revival, this colourway has been announced just weeks after the "Sail", and if we're being honest, we prefer this one a lot more.
Giving us some serious sashiko vibes, the "NAI-KE" is actually a nod back to the '80s when Nike was still producing shoes out in China. Featuring an all-blue colour palette, while it looks like denim it's actually a very supple suede that's soft and smooth to the touch. White contrast stitching runs across the entire upper for a sartorial aesthetic, while a subtle Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels. Dyed laced give the AF1 a DIY-inspired look, and down below you'll find an off-white midsole for a vintage vibe.
The Beaverton brand really pulled out all the stops for this Air Force 1. "The One Line" branding is stitched onto the outside of the tongue tag, while "Elevating Inner Peace Through Sports" can be found on the inside. "Nike" in Chinese is finely embroidered around the back, and this all comes packaged within a special edition box that used a drawer mechanism.
Rumour has it that the Nike Air Force 1 "NAI-KE Blue" will be an Asia-exclusive, but if we hear otherwise we'll be the very first to let you know. Let us know what you think of this upcoming colourway, and while you're here, you might as well get up close with the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid "Black"!
