The Brand With The Three Stripes is no stranger when it comes to seeking out Japanese talent. From cult classic brands like Hender Scheme to industry-leading juggernauts such as BAPE, adidas has thing for the country's unique approach to design. Now, for the first time ever, they've tapped Shinpei Yamagishi's Bed J.W. Ford brand for a full collection, and here's what to expect!
An imprint that's renowned for using striking colours and tailored cuts, they're taking on three iconic silhouettes this season, including the Crazy BYW, the Kamanda, and the lesser-known Korsika that's considered to be the highlight of the capsule. Painted in all-black tones, the first two sneakers completely do away with their conventional uppers in favour of a sock-like design that's crafted from suede and mesh. The third shoe, on the other hand, goes for a more formal approach, complete with a leather lacing system and a toggles around the heel.
In the apparel department, the power duo have come together to create a range of pieces that complement the shoes nicely. With two tops, a pair of pants, and a military inspired coat, they are all colour blocked to perfect with contrasting navy, yellow, and red tones clashing and complementing each other at the same time.
An exciting collaboration, the Bed J.W. Ford x adidas collection is set to hit adidas and select retailers on September 20th. Expect there to be a little bit of a price premium though, as BJWF items can cost a bomb. Will you be grabbing anything? What has caught your eye?
