Comme des Garçons has teamed up with New Balance to announce the release of five new colourways that will sit on much-loved silhouettes.
Debuted at the AW19 CDG show at Paris Fashion Week, the sneakers were first seen on the runway styled with denim, tweed, and other heritage fabrics used in Junya Watanabe's collection. New Balance's 990v5, 574, and 1500 have received updated colour palettes – and we can't wait for them to drop!
While the upcoming releases don't steer too much from the New Balance minimalist design aesthetic, the Japanese fashion house has used premium textiles to up the luxe feel on the new colourways and further push its heritage concept.
The updated silhouettes are complete with ENCAP technology in the sole, which offers stability and cushioning with every step, while the obligatory 'N' adorns the sidewall of each edition of the collaboration.
They're penned to be released in August this year, with an early drop in February to commemorate the collaboration… but this is yet to be seen. If you can't wait for the Comme des Garçons x New Balance collab, check out the latest New Balance 608 'dad shoes' to tide you over until then.
