Avid Nike fans will likely be familiar with the original Nike Dunk Low “Heineken” that launched back in 2003. Created when the Swoosh’s skateboarding division was in its infancy, the pair wasn’t an official collaboration with the Dutch beer company, instead it was a sort of bootleg, like many SB releases of this era. Despite this, the model still proved exceptionally popular with sneakerheads, and remains desirable even today. As we approach the 20th anniversary of the pair, rumours regarding a re-release or even a sequel have begun to circulate the internet, and now Heineken itself has jumped on the bandwagon, posting imagery that hints at an official partnership.
Mimicking the creative behind the recent Tiffany x Nike collaboration, Heineken posted an image on Instagram depicting two bottles of beer inside a green-hued shoe box, with the caption reading “We Love a Fresh Pair”. While this isn’t quite official confirmation of a collaboration, we’d say it’s now looking extremely likely. Keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for more on this developing story as we get it.
