Basketball star Kyrie Irving and his partnership with Nike that has been ongoing since 2014 has undeniably contributed to his strong reputation on and off the court. The duo has been delivering a wide range of hoops-friendly offerings; however, recent issues surrounding the player have led to Nike reconsidering his shoe deal for the upcoming 2022/23 season.
Kyrie Irving's signature basketball shoes have remained popular through the years, but calling his latest Infinity silhouette "trash” and refusing vaccination against COVID-19 have the sportswear giant questioning their contract. Another issue is the availability due to his in-game participation and willingness to promote his signature Nike models being relatively low.
Numerous sources state that Nike will continue to retro Irving's existing trainers and those currently-scheduled, like the Kyrie Irving x Nike Dunk Low "White Blue" collaboration and the Kyrie Infinity 9. But these could be one of the last designs we will see from both parties.
