Every time the new season rolls around, we look forward to seeing how sports brands will reinvent each team’s football kits. This year, blurring football with fashion seems to be a huge focus, with brands like Kappa going all out on Venezia’s home kit, to adidas ramping up the retro detailing on Manchester United’s newest jerseys, to Blokecore becoming the next big thing. However, it's not just on the pitch where teams are looking to make an impression, as footballer fashion plays a huge role within both scenes. Therefore, more and more brands are looking to elevate their style partners, with the latest rumours suggesting that a partnership between AC Milan and Off-White could be in the works.
As AC Milan’s contract with Harmont & Blaine comes to an end, the Italian press has reported that Off-White will step in to dress the team for the 22/23 season. Following in the footsteps of Inter Milan and Moncler, and AC Roma and Fendi, it would make perfect sense for Off-White to join the fold, especially when its headquarters are based in the city itself. It wouldn’t be the brands first foray into football either – Off-White worked with Nike on a collection of boots and kits while Virgil was still alive, and given the late designer’s love for the beautiful game, this feels like an appropriate way to pay homage to his legacy.
Keep your eyes peeled to spot AC Milan players sporting Off-White looks off the pitch soon, and in the meantime, see if you agree with who we think is the best dressed footballer right now.
