While the Nike SB Dunk High “Strawberry Cough” was first set to release all the way back in 2020 to celebrate 4/20, it was eventually delayed until further notice after controversy surrounded the pair regarding the coronavirus pandemic. After what seems like one hell of a wait, it seems we could now be one step closer to this high-heat pair releasing after rumours have been circulating that US skate shops have now received shipments of the pair.
The official images were uploaded to Nike’s global server back in July and quickly spread across the internet, showing the marijuana-themed pair off in all their glory. Nike is no stranger to sneakers inspired by the devil’s lettuce, with many sneakerheads eagerly anticipating each year’s 4/20 release. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on these Dunks then this could be as close as you’re getting for the time being!
Decked out in a neat two-tone colourway that showcases hits of red and green, the “Strawberry Cough” pair is crafted from leather and fuzzy suede for a premium feel throughout. Nike’s Swoosh logo is present on the lateral and medial sides, along with a coughing strawberry character embroidered closer to the heel. Plenty of padding and graphic insoles complete the look, making these one hell of a pair for the Dunk collectors amongst us!
This all sits on top of a translucent ice-blue midsole that reveals red and green underneath, while a full-length Nike Air unit is present to ensure that these are more than comfortable enough, whether you’re skating them or not. While this may be one step closer to a release date, we’re still awaiting further details regarding the Nike SB Dunk High “Strawberry Cough”, so keep it locked in right here for all the latest.
