Back in 2017, the sneaker industry was left in awe as images of an alleged Off-White x Vans collab flooded our news feeds. While Virgil Abloh has neither confirmed nor denied the leaks, two years of silence probably means that the partnership was never meant to be. Now, sneaker insider @ovrnundrshp has taken to Instagram to tease a never-before-seen sample, hinting that the long awaited collaboration could be making a comeback!
Taking on the iconic Black Ball Hi silhouette, the shoe features an ultra clean white canvas upper that's paired with a complementary jazz stripe and lacing set up. Speaking of which, the laces are printed with "OFF-WHITE c/o VIRGIL ABLOH"; branding, adding to the deconstructed nature of the sneaker.
As you move downwards, the vulcanised rubber midsole is lined with the Louis Vuitton Artistic Director's signature cross logo that's been synonymous to the brand since its debut in 2012. A simple red "Vans"; tag is stitched onto the medials, while their iconic "Off The Wall"; skateboard badge graces the heel, finalising the simple yet striking look.
At this moment in time, pretty much nothing else is known about the Off-White x Vans Black Ball Hi. Whether the hotly anticipated collab will actually see the light of day remains to be seen, so make sure you stay tuned for more news as it develops!
