Are you a cartoon lover? Do you remember Peanuts? If not - don't worry, we only have faint memories of the comic strip that first debuted in the 1950s.
Fresh for 2019, you can get your hands on a piece of history. Dedicated to the world of Peanuts, Italian sports brand, Diadora has teamed up with fashion label LC23 for a cartoon-inspired release. The heritage collab brings us two silhouettes that we think are too special to even wear outside!
First of all, we have the LC23 x Peanuts x Diadora MI Basket. This exclusive shoe was specifically developed to highlight Diadora's 1984 sponsorship of the Milan basketball team.
This hi top athletic sneaker comes in a crisp white leather upper, with perforations at the toe vamp and tonal Diadora branding to the sidewalls. Hiker-style green and yellow round laces contract the stark white, while a chunky gum sole.
The LC23 x Peanuts x Diadora B.Elite in White is a low top tennis shoe also dedicated to the historic comic strip. Also crafted from premium full-grain leather uppers, the shoe's white midsole shows Diadora branding embossed into the side and bright red laces bring a flash of colour.
The standout feature on both silhouettes are the embroidered patches of the cartoon characters that decorate the sidewalls. Looking more specifically at which characters are featured, the Mi Basket shows Snoopy and Woodstock, with the B.Elite housing images of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Woodstock, Lucy, Sally and Patty.
We love the sense of fun and playfulness these sneakers are giving. They're reminding us of our childhood and simpler times – so nostalgic!
The LC23 x Peanuts x Diadora MI Basket and LC23 x Peanuts x Diadora B.Elite are both available to purchase now from Foot District. We don't expect these to be around for long, so go check them out while you still can!
