Even though the Air Jordan 1 is almost four decades old, that doesn't stop it from being one of the most hyped sneakers ever made. While a lot has changed since 1985, the design and overall aesthetic of the AJ1 has remained pretty much unaltered - a testament to just how timeless it truly is. Whether or not you're a fan of Michael Jordan's signature shoe, there's no doubt that it has made much impact on the industry, so that's why we've rounded up every single pair that's dropping this Thursday!
A total of five high heat colourways are set to launch this week. All extremely special in their own right, take a look at them down below and let us know which ones you'll be adding to your personal collection this season!
Celebrating Mexico's Day Of The Dead, the Air Jordan 1 Mid "Dia de Muertos" is painted in a traditional purple and yellow colour palette that's borrowed from the occasion's alters. A cracked Swoosh adds depth to the design, while the phrase "Para Mi Familia" can also be found throughout, literally translating to "For My Family" in Spanish. Other interesting details include visible stitching and a Jumpman tongue tag that's decorated with time-honoured patterns and motifs that nod to the Mexican holiday.
Possibly one of the craziest AJ1s to drop this year never mind this week, the Air Jordan 1 SE "Sisterhood" may look like any old "Game Royal" release from a distance but upon further inspection you'll find that it's so much more. Celebrating the female ballers out there, the leather construction is fastened with a series of thick ropes. You'll also find a unique split Nike logo printed on the tongue, and a custom insole that depicts the human body in different positions, all painted in the shoe's blue, black, and white scheme.
Jordan Brand is certainly no strange when it comes to South Beach-inspired releases, but the upcoming Air Jordan 1 SE "South Beach" takes the classic colourway to the next level. Inspired by the glamorous neighbourhood that's located along the world-famous Miami Beach, this AJ1 works on a smooth leather base with fuzzy suede panels throughout. As with all pairs influenced by SoBe, it's dipped in a black and white combi with green and pink accents also making an appearance.
Just what is there not to love about the Air Jordan 1 SE "Varsity Purple"? Originally supposed to drop last week, it's now hitting shelves this Thursday in all its glory and to say that we're beyond hyped is a true understatement. Crafted from a wide range of premium materials, this shoe works on a smooth leather base while black and purple suede hits the toebox and heel, respectively. One of the colourways that's really selling the Mid this season, you definitely don't want to miss this.
And last but not least we have the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Lucky Green". Releasing as part of Jumpman's Holiday 2020 Collection, it first leaked all the way back in July when it was first noticed for its Heineken-inspired colour palette which may or may not be a nod to the Dunk Low that dropped back in 2003. Painted in green and white, a dash of red arrives along the tongue and ankle for a pop of contrast that is sure to turn heads. All this sits atop a premium leather AJ1 that's sure to stand the test of time.
