If you're reading this, we have no doubts that you were one of many who is addicted, or at least was, to Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons video game. Debuted amid the pandemic in March 2020, the online multiplayer Nintendo Switch game rapidly became a global phenomenon, and needless to say, even sneakerheads were posting WTBs of the console rather than kicks. Fast forward to the present day, many players have deserted their perfect paradise and have forgotten about the debt they owe Tom Nook. So if you haven't visited your island in a while, then German sportswear label PUMA is inviting you once again for a whole new adventure and has also offered the Animal Crossing x PUMA "New Horizons" collection to get you started!
The collaborative ensemble features a playful theme with three flagship PUMA footwear silhouettes bearing signature motifs from the much-loved neighbourhood-building game. The set kicks off with a pair of 1968 classic basketball shoes, the PUMA Suede. It features a fuzzy suede upper accented with mint-tinted leaf graphics as a nod to Tom Nook's Hawaiian shirt.
Next, we have the PUMA Wild Rider, flaunting panels that showcase the iconic residents of Animal Crossing. PUMA's familiar Formstrip logo then adorns the side panels with a semi-translucent material, while all the suede counterparts indulge in muted hues of brown, blue, and green. The final instalment of the offering is the PUMA Future Rider which offers nylon and canvas-woven build alongside suede. Also wrapped in the same colour palette, the traditional components of the model still remain, including the TPU slab on the heel, to round it all up.
Will you be copping the Animal Crossing x PUMA "New Horizons" when it arrives on the 18th of September? If so, make sure you start selling those fish and tarantulas as the trio will cost you a significant amount of bells.
