First Look at the '70s-Inspired The North Face x Gucci Collection

It's been just over two months since the The North Face x Gucci collaboration was officially announced, and now, we're taking our first look yet. One of the biggest collections that either party have ever produced, items range from puffer jackets all the way to full tents that probably cost more than your average house.

Taking inspiration from the '70s era of fashion, it challenges the ideas of exploration and self-discovery, all packed within a sustainable and eco-friendly package.

Arriving in multicoloured vibrant palettes, the entire capsule is also decorated with floral motifs and psychedelic patterns to reflect the Hippie movement that began at the dawn of the 1960s. Highlights include a range of outerwear including goose-down feather padded coats and bomber jackets that are all influenced by vintage Gucci silhouettes from decades past.

You'll also find a selection of staple T-shirts and sweaters that are all adorned with the special co-branded logo that was first teased all the way back in September.

In the footwear department, the Italian fashion house has teamed up with TNF for a collection of black, brown, and cream boots that all sit atop rugged Goodyear midsoles complete with rope laces and the logos on the lateral side panel.

Of course, it wouldn't be a collaboration with the Alessandro Michele-helmed label without the addition of carrying options and luggage which play a huge role in this capsule. Introducing eight new graphic patterns based on either Gucci House motifs or the collection's logo, the pieces are crafted from a brand new ECONYL fabric that's crafted from regenerated materials that can also be recycled and recreated.

While no official release information has been announced just yet, the Gucci x The North Face Collection is expected to be debut in China through a series of specially-redesigned stores. A worldwide release will roll out soon after, with a select few pieces making their way to the Gucci webstore alongside some online exclusive that you won't be able to find in any brick and mortar location.
