After taking on the coveted 2002R last year, A Bathing Ape has now reunited with New Balance for the BAPE x New Balance 57/40 collection! One of the most underrated silhouettes in the Boston-based brand's portfolio, it's about to get the hype that it deserves thanks to the legendary Japanese streetwear label.
Applying his signature camouflage motif on to the 57/40, Nigo's iconic ABC CAMO is sure to turn heads wherever you go. Working on top of a ballistic mesh base, supple suede panels wrap around the sneakers, while an extra chunky foam midsole takes comfort levels to new heights - both literally and figuratively. "A Bathing Ape" branding is printed on the lateral heel, while the Tokyo imprint's Ape Head motif adorns the tongue.
Arriving in two flavours, if the "Black" is a little too understated for your taste, BAPE will also be dropping a vibrant "Multicolour" option. Both colourways boast shark tooth-inspired graphics around the heel complete with a healthy dose of 3M so you can flex even in low light conditions. The trainers will also arrive in special edition shoeboxes that are made for the collectors out there.
The A Bathing Ape x New Balance 57/40 collection is expected to arrive very soon, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops! Let us know which colourway you're feeling the most and how this collab compares to the one from last summer, and in related news, the New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack Pink" may just be this season's best sneaker!
