We already took a sneak peek of the New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack Pink" a few weeks ago, but we want to circle back and take a second to admire the beauty that is this upcoming colourway. While the "Protection Pack" is already extremely sought-after, applying this pastel palette just makes it even more lust-worthy. To be honest, we think that it might just be this season's best sneaker - and here's why.
Bearing a striking resemblance to the legendary "Rain Cloud", this 2002R switches out the dull and dreary grey panels in favour of rosier tones that are perfect for the summer months. A deep magenta arrives along the toebox, heel, and lacing system, while soft pink hues play a major role everywhere else. A clean lilac accent adds a further pop of contrast to the crep.
Crisp white laces tie everything together, while the N-ERGY midsole is as comfortable as it gets. Of course, it wouldn't be part of New Balance's "Protection Collection" without the deconstructed details throughout. With an exposed foam tongue, a pre-aged outsole, and jagged edges, there's never been a sneaker quite like NB's latest.
The New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack Pink" is expected to launch sometime this summer alongside a range of other vibrant drops like the "Orange" and the "Purple". Make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops, and in related news, the Slow Steady Club x New Balance 990v5 is arriving in two colourways!
