Right then, sneakerheads, it looks like KITH just unveiled a surprise. We thought we knew the score regarding the next set of Air Max 95 reworkings. Earlier chatter promised three reserved colour schemes: "Black Spruce/Olive Flak/Coriander/Wheat," "Midnight Navy/Game Royal/Smoke Grey/Sail," and "Black Spruce/Tough Red/Sequoia/Summit White." Yet, a peek at the latest Instagram shots from Complex Sneakers suggests KITH has cooked up something entirely different for this legendary Nike silhouette. And no, we are NOT complaining!
KITH and Nike certainly know how to shake things up. The duo apparently returns with a heavily textured interpretation of the streetwear essential: the KITH x Nike Air Max 95 "Orange". Ronnie Fieg's knack for design and his New York roots clearly inspire this collaboration. The partnership takes the anatomy inspired runner and weaves subtle hints of Knicks colours and layered narratives into its overall structure. This KITH Air Max 95 marks a major expansion in the brand's collaborative history, charting fresh territory for two giants in the sneaker world.
The upper section uses a gradient of various grey suedes. Each undulating layer carries embossed checkerboard patterns, creating a dynamic shift between feel and surface depth. Small blue Mini Swooshes and KITH insignia settle discretely within this matrix. Orange lace loops break up the grey tones, providing a sharp visual reference to the Knicks' signature hue. A darker blue mini Swoosh and the exposed Air units in the sole complete the colour mix. The visual variety continues with a square textured mesh underlay and a checkerboard 3M heel tab. Black laces also include reflective threads woven throughout.
The classic black midsole sits beneath, ensuring the trainer retains that instantly recognisable AM95 personality. Given Fieg’s reputation for presentation and attention to minute details, we anticipate a spare set or two of laces will accompany the pair.
