Back in December, Louis Vuitton dropped hints about an upcoming range designed in partnership with Off-White’s Virgil Abloh and BAPE’s NIGO. Rumours began swirling as fans were desperate to know more about the designs and now images of the covetable collection have finally dropped and, to be honest, we’re obsessed.
Presented in a multitude of retro denim, premium tailoring and graphic designs, this extra-special collection is named “LV²”, titled by NIGO himself, the name nods to the collaborative efforts of both Albloh and NIGO, who worked together to bring the range to life.
Crisp tailoring sits alongside bomber jackets and accessories, all finished with Louis Vuitton’s signature LV monogrammed logo. Denim silhouettes are kept loose. The Louis Vuitton x Virgil Abloh x NIGO jeans come in an oversized check finish that nods to BAPE’s penchant for graphic design and the jacket is finished with LV’s instantly recognisable logo. A bucket hat nicely rounds off the denim offerings and is set to be bang on trend for the upcoming season. Arguably one of the most covetable pieces in the collection, the brand’s iconic leather belt gets an update with the LV buckle transformed into an “LV²” design.
The Louis Vuitton x Virgil Abloh x NIGO is expected to drop this summer and Abloh has hinted that this won’t just be a one-off collection, he said in a recent interview with Vogue, “There’s already been talks that this could be an ongoing logic”, he said, “I think both sides are open to it, so I wouldn’t rule out that other things could come…”
We’re here for this collab and as more and more premium x streetwear partnerships are starting to emerge, we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw more from LV x Virgil x NIGO in the future!
While we’re on the topic of premium collabs, find out how to cop the upcoming Dior x Air Jordan 1 High now.
