Get Ready for the Release of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 'Monarch'

It's all starting to get very real now! Nike Air Max 1 fans will hardly be able to contain themselves, as it's now official that the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 "Monarch" is on its way. Patta announced on their Instagram account that the wavy Air Max 1 is set to release on 8th October on Nike SNKRS and the Patta website, whilst further retailers will come after on 15th October.

Coming alongside the drop is a four-part film series called 'The Wave', linking to the squiggly design found above the midsole on the new AM1. The first part of this film series is out now and you can watch below.

Debuting the film for the first time, Gee Schmidt, co-founder of Patta, said that 'The Wave' is to represent a "more purpose-driven evolution in our partnership with Nike" that will "truly serve and drive change for our community". The aim of the film series is to explore different themes, including freedom and creativity, to show that "creativity can manifest into authentic relationships".

As for the Patta x AM1, the aforementioned waves take over the upper in that vibrant orange colouring, contrasting against the "Sail" midsole housing the iconic Air unit. A mini Nike Swoosh can be found at the front of the lateral sidewall, whilst a mesh upper creates a comfortable and breathable shoe. Additional branding can be found on the heel and at the top of the tongue in that "Monarch" hue.
