While it has been revealed that BAPE had a huge 2021, according to Stock X, you could surely argue the Japanese streetwear imprint might be a tad late to the party with this latest collaboration. Following the success of Netflix's hit Korean drama Squid Game last year, BAPE x Squid Game have now joined forces to produce a trio of collaborative T-Shirts.
The announcement came just hours ago from the @bape_japan Instagram, with the brand showcasing the trio within the post.
The first piece arrives with a white and green colour-blocked design, reminiscent of the jumpsuits the contestants wear on the show. Across the chest, we see a "456" imprint dressed in BAPE's signature camo. This print refers to player 456, the main protagonist of the show.
The second tee arrives in both black and white colourways, with each featuring a large print on the front. We see BAPE's famed "Baby Milo" print take a new form as the pink jumpsuit masked guards from the show.
Finally, we see a fresh take on the classic A Bathing Ape logo made up of pink and black hues, finalised with a green "456" logo. Pre-orders for this collection begin on Friday the 21st of January and will be available on both BAPE's and NETFLIX's websites. In other news, is the Fear of God x adidas collaboration set to drop soon?
