The most covetable high-end designer of the season, Dior is stealing headlines and dominating the industry thanks to unique collaborations, urban designs and a refreshing take on staple silhouettes. At AW20’s Paris Fashion Week, the Parisian label – currently headed by Kim Jones – debuted its new season collection and treated fans to an official look at the new Dior x Air Jordan 1 - among other must-have treasures.
An unmissable element of the collection is Dior’s penchant for monogramming. Nearly every piece boasts either all-over or partial monogramming that instantly evokes a feeling of ‘90s nostalgia. Saddle bags are set replace belt bags as the new essential accessory and scarves and gloves are high voltage, finished with blingy prints in bold colourways. But where this collection really shines is, of course, the footwear. Having already made waves, the Dior B23 High-Top Sneaker is a casual silhouette with iconic branding. Made to replace your old favourite high top, this premium iteration delivers on style, durability and versatility.
But at the runway, there’s just one shoe everyone was itching to see, and that was the Dior x Air Jordan 1. Crafted from smooth leather and designed in a perfect combination of pastel grey and crisp white, Dior’s branding is sophisticated and features on the Swoosh. Jumpman’s signature “Wings” logo gets a little update with “Air Dior” stamped above and the outsole is nicely rounded off with logo detailing. Predicted to be one of the most in-demand sneakers of the year, it’s set for an April release date.
The race to get your hands on a pair of the Dior x Air Jordan 1 will be immense, so set your alarms, charge your phones and keep it locked into The Sole Supplier to be the first to know all the details of how to cop.
