Get Up Close With the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle "Sail"

Hype is slowly but surely building for the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle "Sail". First spotted on the runways of Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, sneakerheads weren't too sure about the unique design of Chitose Abe's latest silhouette, but it certainly seems like they're warming up to it. If you still haven't made your mind up, it's time to get up close and personal!

Crispy clean shots courtesy of @retroshoparis, the VaporWaffle, which was previously dubbed the Pegasus VaporFly, features one of the most unique designs the sneaker world has ever seen. Clearly a homage to the OG Cortez which Forrest Gump famously wore, the "Sail" features the same colour palette but with futuristic aesthetic at the helm.

With a premium suede and Flyknit construction, the Japanese icon's signature style comes into full effect here, doubling the Nike Swooshes, tongues, laces, and even the midsole, which has been left with a "peeled off" look that's got everyone talking.

You'll even find a Waffle midsole underfoot as well to reference the vintage silhouettes that this was inspired by, as well as a tiny pull tab at the heel for the perfect on-and-off fit.
