When Jun Takahashi unveiled the UNDERCOVER x Nike Dunk High "Chaos" Collection in his Fall/Winter 2021 lookbook last month, we were shocked yet pleasantly surprised at the same time. A designer who is renowned for completely deconstructing and reconstructing sneakers, he's decided to keep things pretty minimal for the Dunk, and now, we're getting up close and personal!
Spotted here in "Triple Black" and "Triple White" colour schemes, UNDERCOVER's take on the basketball shoe is as sleek as it gets. With a premium leather upper that features multiple textures for added depth, a Nike Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels while perforations at the toebox offer up an ultra breathable experience.
Of course, you can't talk about Takahashi's take on the Dunk High without mentioning the multilingual imagery around the back. The left shoe is emblazoned with "CHAOS" while the right features the German word "GLEICHGEWICHT" which directly translated to "balance". This is then finished off with a speckled midsole that harkens back to his React Element 87 and React Presto collaborations.
At this moment in time, pretty much nothing else is known about the UNDERCOVER x Nike Dunk High "Chaos" Collection, but we know that it'll drop towards the end of 2021. Let us know which colourway you're feeling the most, and while you're here, you might as well take an on-foot look at the fragment design x Nike Dunk High "London"!
