Last week we unveiled the news that Union LA is working on yet another Nike collaboration, this time in the form of none other than the Cortez. Just a few days later and we now have high-quality on-foot images of the upcoming Union LA x Nike Cortez “Khaki Red”. This pair seems to be dividing opinions across the community, as collaborations using the Cortez as the base model are relatively rare, although there have been several notable occurrences over the years.
Decked out in the khaki hue that spans across much of the uppers, additional touches to the colourway include hits of both blue and red, channelling Union's signature vibe across the sneakers. They’re crafted from a mix of suede and nubuck, with canvas sections also appearing across the panelled uppers, which redesign the usually one-piece construction of the vintage runner that’s been knocking around since the 1970s.
Details come in the form of Swoosh logos across both the lateral and medial sides, along with dual-branding on both the tongues and insoles, hinting at the high-profile collaborative nature of this release. The finishing touches include yellow Union LA logo tabs, as well as heel tabs displaying the silhouette logo that lift up to reveal traditional block letter Nike branding. Of course, this all sits on top of the classic waffle sole that provides plenty of comfort and support even by modern day standards.
If you’re looking to add these to your rotation you’ll have to sit tight a little longer just yet, as no official release date has currently been set. Keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier as we’ll share more details as soon as they’re unveiled, and in the time being check out the rest of our site for stories like your first look at the Jordan Brand Spring 2022 Collection!
