Nike intends to continue its run of retro releases with a "big bubble" iteration of a beloved colourway in 2026. For those not in the know, the original AM 95 featured a noticeably larger Air unit in the heel. This was subsequently reduced in size and became the standard we see today. The iconic footwear brand is set to bring back a colour scheme from 2018, this time using the original underfoot construction.
Mirroring several of the initial Air Max 95 releases, the "Grape" version showcases a fading colour transition across the panels on its midfoot. The layered leather and suede panels, inspired by human anatomy, begin in a light grey and transition to a darker shade as they ascend, meeting a mesh netting that partially reveals the initial touches of grape purple on the nylon lace loops. More purple features on the mesh tongue's top section, where the word "Max" appears within the centrally located, stitched Air Max script.
Additional branding elements, including the small Swoosh on the ankle collar and the Nike Air lettering at the heel, are also rendered in purple. The heel detail includes a teal highlight on its Swoosh, positioned within the text. Completing the design are the white laces, sockliner, and midsole, which incorporate teal highlights within the visible Air units, all sitting atop a solid black rubber outsole.

Examining the overall aesthetic, the "Grape" Air Max 95 evokes a 1990s feel through its incorporation of "Court Purple" and "Emerald Green" accents. The former colour appears on the tongue, eyelets, and Swoosh logos, while the latter features prominently within the Air bubbles. Similar to the "Neon" Air Max 95, this upcoming "Grape" retro aims for the most faithful OG colourway impression possible, complete with a larger, seamed big bubble Air unit.
The Nike Air Max 95 "Grape" is set for Spring 2026 release through select Nike retailers as well as on Nike's online platform. The retail price stands at £175, and it will be available in women’s sizing. For now, the best course of action is to hit that bell icon, and we'll notify you the moment these land.
