This year, the Beaverton brand are doing big things with the Air Force 1, more specifically, the Air Force 1 Mid. With a plethora of hyped collabs and special releases in the pipeline, we're now taking our best look yet at Virgil Abloh's hotly anticipated Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid. On top of that, we also have a pretty solid release date too, so make sure you read on to find out more!
Unlike anything we've seen before, the late Off-White founder and Louis Vuitton designer pulled all the stops for this release. Seen here in the "Black" colourway, it'll launch alongside the "White" which features the exact same design and material construction as this, just in a "Triple White" package. With a canvas upper that's detailed with a wood grain-like effect, a zig-zag lacing system shoots across the top of the shoe in a similar fashion to Abloh's Dunk collection. An ankle strap offers the ultimate lockdown fit, while "Air" branding on the tongue is done up in a graffiti-inspired design.
Of course, you can't talk about this AF1 without mentioning Virgil's love of deconstruction. With a transparent Nike Swoosh on either side of the sneaker, you'll also find a bold orange zip tie, quoted text, an exposed Air bubble, and a neon pink outsole that's borrowed from other Off-White projects such as 2021's Air Zoom Tempo Next% and 2019's Zoom Terra Kiger 5.
Now for that all-important launch date. Expected to arrive on May 23rd, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid collection is a must-have in our eyes. One of the last collabs that Virgil worked on with the Swoosh before his untimely passing in November, this is definitely one for the collectors out there. Let us know which colourway you're feeling the most, and in related news, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 "Green" has been unveiled!
