Celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2022, Nike’s Air Force 1 has been experiencing a hot streak. Since the ‘90s, the silhouette has been a mainstay in sneaker culture thanks to its reputation in places like Brooklyn and Harlem. Last year saw the return of Nike’s OG orange box for the “Colour Of The Month” Air Force 1 Series, which alone was enough for sneakerheads to part with their cash.
As Nike increasingly hit the gas on this ‘80s basketball classic, it became harder and harder for releases to stand out. While serious collectors might argue the Air Force 1 has lost its magic, editions such as this one from Texas-based sneaker boutique Premium Goods are capturing that energy once again. Established in 2004, the boutique has been around long enough to know what makes sneakers great. Beading on the Swoosh and heel, thick cream rope laces and even quilted leather tooling, there’s a whole lot of detail that Premium Goods has managed to pack onto “The Sophia”.
If you’re after a pair of Nikes that would most definitely have been a regional exclusive back in the early ‘00s, or just a pair of Air Force 1 that will turn heads, then “The Sophia” is just that. These sold out via SNKRS back in January but luckily for you, they’re still available at END. There are only a few sizes left so here’s your chance to catch a delayed W!
