High Fashion and Outdoor Gear Collide with the COMME des GARÇONS x Salomon Collection

As the outdoor gear trend continues to take the fashion world by storm, a brand-new partnership between COMME des GARCONS and Salomon has been unveiled as part of the Japanese label’s SS22 collection. Famed for many collaborations, CDG has a rich history within the footwear world, teaming up with brands such as Nike, Converse and many more.

While Salomon was previously a brand revered by outdoor enthusiasts and hikers, it has slowly become adopted into the world of high fashion due to current trends. Rei Kawakubo’s label has worked on several different Salomon silhouettes, applying it’s signature aesthetic for a look that will no doubt be popular with those that are into the brand.

First up is a high-top sock-like model that showcases CDG’s signature typeface logo along with a bold S logo on the tongues. From a first look it appears that the monochromatic colourways are crafted from technical mesh, with a chunky midsole displaying the classic hiking look. Low top variants follow, offering a more pared-back design, although little is revealed from the runway shots we have so far.
