It's official - we are just one day away from the Zebra restock. By this point you've probably entered every raffle out there and already taken a few Ls, but right up until the day of reckoning there is still hope that you'll cop - the adidas online Saturday morning queue awaits.
If you've ever experienced the gruelling wait before, which by this point you probably have done, you'll know how tough it is. But don't fret - we're here with a simple guide on how to survive the adidas queue until you either cop, or more inevitably meet the 'SOLD OUT' screen in the early afternoon.
1. Get Some Rest
Friday night is going to need to be an early one for you, because whether you're used to it or not, it isn't easy getting up at 8am on a Saturday morning. You'll probably feel like a kid on Christmas day but the earlier you get to sleep, the sooner the day will come around, and the sooner you'll received the inevitable L.
You don't want to be sitting in front of 17 screens tired out your mind for half the day, so no 3am bedtimes tonight please.
2. Have Something To Eat
Even though all you're doing is sitting and waiting, it can become quite hungry work. Eating something as soon as you get up will start your metabolism and should leave you feeling more awake and in a better mood - for a bit at least.
Me and my flatmate have a tradition of getting a Subway breakfast for all Yeezy releases and rest assured it does make it somewhat easier gobbling down the rubberised 'egg' - and the rest, but don't have too much salt as there will be plenty of that later.
If you're really not a morning person then have a large pot of coffee on the go too, or perhaps something stronger.
3. Stick Some Tunes On
Trust me, this really works. The hours you'll be in that damn queue for will feel significantly shorter if you just put some music on and embrace it.
If you're struggling for something to listen to then check out these songs which perfectly sum up the rollercoaster that is copping Yeezys.
4. Don't Go Alone
If you can, try and meet up with some friends so you can all sit together and experience the gruelling wait together. If you can't physically meet up, have them on the phone or Skype. Whatever you need to do so you aren't sat in the dark wallowing in pity for hours when you don't manage to cop.
5. Have A Plan
Whilst you may be expecting to not get a pair, you need to think optimistically and consider that you will. Not only this, but what if you get through several times?
Make sure you have a few ways of paying, for example, PayPal, various cards and prepaid cards, as well as various addresses.
Its not certain that if you cop multiple times with the same card and to the same address that your orders will be cancelled but its better not to take the risk.
6. Be Patient
Chances are you won't make it past the queue in the first 15 minutes, heck, chances are you won't get through at all - but you need to be resilient and in it for the long haul otherwise you are significantly reducing your chances of copping.
For the last release, I got through several times and this was all after a couple hours of queuing, in a relatively short space of time, when stock was starting to near being sold out. It's not over until they are officially sold out.
7. Celebrate Or Commiserate
Whether or not you manage to get a pair, you should still have something to look forward to after. Meet up with some mates, go out, and raise a glass until you can't remember the events of the morning and most likely afternoon…or evening.
