Icons Collide With The New KAWS + Warhol Uniqlo UT Collection

KAWS and UNIQLO are once again making a comeback. Last year’s collection between the Brooklyn-based artist and the Japanese retailer was the latest in a long-time partnership between the two and despite KAWS announcing that his June 2019 collection with UNIQLO would be his last, it looks like the collaboration between the two shows no sign of slowing down.

To commemorate the launch of the new KAWS + Warhol exhibit which launched in May, UNIQLO are treating us to a collaboration with two of the world’s most influential contemporary artists in a fresh and unexpected way. With the tour of this exhibit set to travel the globe before reaching Tokyo in 2026, it’s only right that UNIQLO start building the hype early with this incredible 15-piece collection. Consisting of everything we’ve come to expect from a UNIQLO x KAWS collection - playful graphics, XX logo detailing and an iconic feature from KAWS’ companion characters - this latest collab between the artist and UNIQLO UT is set to drop August 22nd.

Drawing upon iconography from both KAWS and Warhol’s own personal artworks, this collection offers some incredible graphic options. With this being a UNIQLO UT collab, we have to talk about the t-shirts first. There are going to be 4 graphic tees releasing as part of this collaboration, all of which feature co-branded detailing and unique back-prints. Complimenting these tees there will also be some outerwear pieces, including two jackets and two sweatshirts, which again feature playful graphics. A standout of these outerwear pieces has to be the KAWS + Warhol UT Coach Jacket in black, which features Warhol’s iconic banana print which was used as the artwork for The Velvet Underground’s debut album.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a KAWS x UNIQLO collab without some fire accessories. Alongside some co-branded KAWS x Warhol socks, we are also set to see KAWS x UNIQLO tote bags return, with two designs being loaded up on site which are sure to sell out quickly. The piece which will be hardest to get however isn’t even an item of clothing, it’s a book. Ahead of its global release, UNIQLO are exclusively releasing the KAWS x Warhol exhibition art book. The perfect coffee table book and coming with a free tote bag, don’t be surprised if you find it hard to get your hands on this piece.

With so much hype building for this release, it's important to note that purchases of these items will be limited to prevent resellers.

The full collection is set to release at UNIQLO stores worldwide and via the UNIQLO website on August 22nd with items being prices between £5.90 to £59.90.
