Updated 12th July, 2025: The BMX legend himself has now given us an up close view of his latest creation, officially dubbed the "Better With Time" colourway. It looks much different from the initially rumoured “Nitro” colourway.
This new design boasts a mainly black upper, complemented by off white accents throughout. You won't find the scuffed Swooshes or the aged midsoles from his previous High here. Instead, this Low sports a washed, worn in finish on the outsole. Plus, the black leather upper itself shows various "imperfections," touches that continue to narrate Sylvester's story through the iconic Air Jordan line.

Original story: Nigel Sylvester’s collaborations with Jordan Brand are set to reach new heights with the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Nitro.” Expected to debut in Fall 2025, this marks Sylvester’s first venture into designing the Air Jordan 1 Low silhouette.
Sylvester isn’t just a BMX legend; he’s the mastermind who fused street smarts with jaw dropping design, turning tricks on and off the bike. The renowned biker has elevated his role at Jordan Brand in 2024, going beyond his position as a chief collaborator. With his cleverly spun "Bike Air" collab, he debuted the Jordan 4 RM and helped to build hype around the new silhouette. In 2025, it appears Nigel Sylvester will make his return to the mainline collection with the highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Nitro,” as news of the release has just surfaced online.
If you’ve kept up with our early leaks before, you know that at this point, the only confirmed info we have is the colour codes. This time around, the palette includes Black, Muslin, and Varsity Red. The initial mockups suggest we can anticipate classic Nigel design elements, such as the signature mini Swoosh; a detail that has consistently featured in all of his collaborations with Jumpman so far.
The images hint at the return of the iconic “Big Swoosh” on this silhouette, a design element eagerly anticipated to reappear on releases like the Jordan 1 Low “Chicago”.
This announcement joins the Nigel Sylvester Jordan 4 as yet another testament to the strong and enduring partnership between the BMX icon and the brand. Neither side intends to hit the brakes anytime soon.
The Nigel Sylvester Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Nitro” is expected to drop in Fall 2025. While retail pricing has yet to be confirmed, anticipation is already building. Stay tuned to The Sole Supplier for the latest updates and news from the world of sneakers.
