In a bizarre turn of events over the weekend, Kanye West took to Twitter in a strange rant to claim that he’s the new head of adidas. While he may be one of the three-stripes biggest collaborators, we’re not entirely sure that his new claim to fame is accurate.
He then went on (in the same tweet) to diss a rival brand by labelling all of Puma’s designs “embarrassingly trash”. Not to worry though, as Kanye reckons he’ll “bring adidas and Puma back together and bring me and Jay back together” - referring to the infamous split between brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler, who founded adidas and Puma respectively. He also refers to the ongoing feud between himself and fellow Watch the Throne creator Jay-Z.
We’re yet to receive any update on whether Kanye is actually the new head of adidas, however for the time being we’re assuming that he’s probably not. On the other hand though, the Jesus is King star took to Twitter once again a day later to apologise profusely to Puma.
He stated “speaking biggs now, I shouldn’t have said anything about Puma publicly”, as well as apologising to “Emory, Jay and the entire Puma crew”. Both Puma and adidas are yet to respond to this latest Twitter rant, with Kanye remaining quiet since.
While we’re unsure what Kanye was thinking with this latest spree of tweets, there’s no denying that Yeezy’s are still absolutely killing it. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier, and while you’re here check out Stussy’s latest collection!
