NMD hype is officially back. One of the most iconic sneaker lines from 2015, popularity surrounding the model has been at an all-time-low as of late, but the German giant are bringing it all back with the release of the adidas NMD S1 "Ice Mint". Here to keep your crep collection fresh, this is the first colourway to get a public release. If you want a pair in your rotation this season, then we're going to tell you what the best way is to secure your size!
Taking the classic R1 and beefing everything up, this Nomad boasts an "Onyx" Primeknit upper that embraces your foot. A monofilament mesh panel graces the lateral and medial sides kind of like the 350 V2, and this is highlighted by Three Stripe branding which shoots vertically across. The ankle collar is giving us serious 450 vibes, and you'll also find a tiny Trefoil tag here too.
Down below is where all the magic happens. Gone is the exposed Boost midsole in favour of a see-through unit that houses the tech within. This is painted in a crisp "Ice Mint" hue, complete with in-built EVA plugs on either side of the shoe. Underneath it all, the entire outsole is made out of adidas logos which harken back to classics such as the Marathon. This all comes packaged in a special edition shoebox that's definitely one for the collectors.
The humble NMD has come a long way since its debut in 2015. If you want the adidas Originals NMD S1 "Ice Mint" in your collection, make sure you enter the adidas CONFIRMED raffle before they officially launch on February 25th. Let us know if you'll be adding these to your seasonal rotation, and in related news, the Pharrell x adidas Hu NMD S1 RYAT takes the silhouette to new heights!
