Having already had a strong 2023, it would seem New York's own Kith is looking to put an exclamation mark on this year's efforts. After delivering its first selection of Winter 2023 apparel last week, Ronnie Fieg's label has now joined forces alongside the iconic Maddison Square Garden to reimagine a duo of New Balance 990v6s.
After its construction in 1968, Maddison Square Garden (or MSG, to many) has become arguably the world's most famous venue for live shows. Known for both its musical and sporting events, MSG has set the stage for some of the most iconic moments in pop culture history over the years.
Now, alongside fellow New York native Kith, the duo has tapped Boston's own New Balance to create a pair of fresh 990v6 colourways. With MSG playing host to the New York Knicks basketball team, a 'home' and 'away' theme has been applied to the pair.
The first colourway sports a number of cream hues atop a mesh and suede base accented by orange details and a blue collar. Its counterpart opts for a more stealthy appearance instead, with black and blue tints sat atop an icy white midsole. In addition, both pairs arrive with custom-printed footbeds and custom Madison Square Garden packaging.
Both models are set to release on Monday, the 6th of November, directly from Kith stores and online. In other footwear news, Japanese patchwork graces the New Balance "Boro Pack."
