After giving us a sneak peek of the capsule this week, Maharishi has officially dropped its latest "Year of the Water Tiger" collection. The drop coincided with the Lunar New Year celebrations yesterday and features a range of tiger designs and embroidery.
For those unaware, we have just entered the Year of the Tiger in the zodiac calendar. The tiger itself is the third animal in the calendar, and it symbolises a range of things, including strength and fearlessness.
Naturally, given Maharishi's knack for embroidery, it may come as no surprise to see a diverse range of intricately formed tigers set across the garments. Hoodies, jackets, snopants and even Kimonos arrive with a selection of hand-machine embroidered artwork. These designs allow the jackets to bear a striking resemblance to the Sukajan-style seen in the Eastern fashion scene.
Standouts from the collection include a black varsity jacket that arrives complete with a contrasting white tiger back print, a bright red hoodie featuring both arm and hood tiger embroidery and a camouflaged kimono with rear orange detailing.
The full collection is available for purchase now on the Maharishi web store. In other news, Kid Cudi leads Levi's newest 501 campaign.
