Whilst the Dunk Low tends to be the go-to silhouette for Dunk fans right now, the High looks set to get a lot of love this year too, with a few colourways already lined up for the rest of 2022. Hot off the back of the upcoming CLOT collab, plus the “Fossil Rose Pack” Dunk, this latest SB Dunk High “Mineral Slate” is a welcome addition to the Dunk line-up, and comes with quite the backstory.
According to Instagram user, @nikesbornothing, the “Mineral Slate” SB Dunk was originally meant to come in a mis-matched colourway, which would see the colour blocking flipped on the opposite feet. For whatever reason, Nike looked to have changed their minds, and the end result is a super-clean, wearable pair in a more versatile colourway.
To start, a stealthy black canvas base gives way to the “Mineral Slate” suede overlays, which come in a greeny-blue shade that’s unlike anything we’ve seen on any recent Dunks. The same shade can also be seen on the laces and sockliner, whilst a “Sail” Swoosh adds contrast to the side of the shoe. Underfoot, a crisp white midsole comes topped with a black outsole, and features built in Air Zoom technology to remind us that this SB Dunk remains comfortable enough to skate in.
The “Mineral Slate” SB Dunk is set to drop Feb 18th, so if these SBs deserve a spot in your spring rotation, head over to Nike SNKRS to get notified.
Up next, this Dunk Low comes dressed in mixed materials.
