NFTs and the metaverse are the two hot topics in the community today. While they are certainly still new subjects to many, global brands are already prepping to step foot in the virtual space, like Nike and RTFKT Studios and Japanese streetwear label BAPE. One of the latest names reportedly hopping in the metaverse is the world-famous fast-food chain McDonald's, and we do not doubt that the masses are already lovin' this news.
As reported by trademark attorney Josh Gerben, the American multinational fast-food brand's trademark requests state a few virtual elements: food and beverage items, downloadable media files such as artwork, text, audio, and of course, non-fungible tokens (aka NFTs). Info regarding the blockchain is still unknown. Although, many expect that it will be on Ethereum.
Furthermore, McDonald's trademark applications also request permission for virtual events and the classic McDonald's menu, which will be orderable in the virtual world then delivered to your address physically.
While there is no confirmed official announcement and roadmap from McDonald's, we suggest that you stay locked in right here at The Sole Supplier as we provide you with more news related to NFTs and the metaverse. On that note, Sotheby's are reportedly auctioning off 104 CryptoPunks NFTs this month!
